WHAT DOES YOUR FIRM DO?
Matthews Immigration Group ("MIG") provides quality legal advice, counsel, and representation to U.S. and foreign business entities, academic and research institutions, and non-profit organizations of all sizes seeking to sponsor foreign nationals through employment-based immigration benefits programs, as well as to individuals, couples, and families seeking solutions to complex immigration problems. The firm navigates its clientele through the hyper-technical maze of statutory law embodied in the Immigration and Nationality Act, as well as the labyrinth of adjacent legislation, regulations, and case law governing the lawful admission, legal immigration status, and authorized period of stay and physical presence of non-naturalized foreign-born immigrants and nonimmigrants on temporary or permanent bases. The firm leverages from a single pool of legal immigration knowledge and skills in zealous pursuit of its clients’ immigration goals in a “seller’s” (high-demand/low-supply) market of congressionally limited immigration benefits.
MIG possesses an interdisciplinary background uniquely experienced with and singularly focused upon the immigration needs of our clients. We provide an unwavering commitment to client service and education, advocacy, the integration of technology into case preparation to maximize efficiency and transparency, and highly competitive and inclusive flat fees.

We are committed to zealously advocating on behalf of our clients in a wide variety of immigration matters.
WHAT IS YOUR FIRM MISSION STATEMENT?
MIG exists to deliver high-value immigration strategies and solutions to its Clients through competence, integrity, efficiency, meaningful communication, meticulous accuracy and attention to details, and adaptability to fluid domestic political environments and global labor markets. The firm maintains a sustainable and equitable cost-benefit balance in its annual Flat Fee Schedule, charging attorney fees in accordance with high-quality legal services.
HOW DOES YOUR FIRM STAND OUT?
Our firm is set apart by our boutique model approach to specialized immigration lawyering within an increasingly conglomerated legal industry. For many businesses, a shared belief exists that outsourcing immigration work to the larger firms is the safe choice carrying the least amounts of risk and expense. However, as in any professional services industry, one generally gets what they pay for. Matthews Immigration Group offers immigration law expertise that is all-inclusive, not overextended, and finely balanced between scaled efficiencies and holistic client care. We do not seek to be the largest immigration services provider - we seek to be an exceptional one. We are not an assembly-line mega-firm that views and treats foreign nationals like commodities. Our business model enables us to be selective with the clients and cases we represent so that we may offer each client the personalized attention that they require and deserve. We know what businesses and individuals need from their immigration counsel and we know how to deliver. We are the right choice.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO?
We understand firsthand the complex immigration experience. We enjoy providing dedicated, effective, and compassionate immigration legal services to individuals, couples, families, and businesses of all sizes seeking lawful opportunities in the United States.
WHAT SHOULD PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS KNOW ABOUT YOUR SERVICE PRICING?
The Rule: An effective lawyer is rarely cheap and a cheap lawyer is rarely effective so do not choose your immigration counsel based solely upon price. Matthews Immigration Group maintains a sustainable and equitable cost-benefit balance in its annual Flat Fee Schedule, charging attorney fees in accordance with high-quality legal services.
Our firm offers flat-fee pricing on most case types, flexible payment plans, and advance payment discounts.
For our prospective business clients, we will gladly meet with you or respond to an RFP and provide you with a company-specific flat-fee schedule for our services.
WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL PROCESS FOR WORKING WITH A NEW CLIENT?
During your initial telephonic or in-office consultation, you will have an opportunity to confidentially speak with an experienced immigration lawyer who will obtain from you all relevant information needed to evaluate your immigration situation and goals and inform you of your options. The attorney will then memorialize the conversation in an e-mail and attach a Representation Agreement outlining the recommended work, plan of action and estimated timeline, attorney fees, government filing fees, and proposed payment plan (where applicable), together with a Credit Card Authorization Form ("CCAF"). The attorney will answer any follow-up questions and, upon receipt of the signed Representation Agreement and completed CCAF, begin work on your case in accordance with the plan of action. With few exceptions, the first step will involve the release of a proprietary online questionnaire for your completion and a request for specific documents pertinent to your case.
Your initial consultation is a one-time commitment for a flat fee covering pre-appointment attorney preparation, documents review, and legal research in addition to the meeting itself. You can expect and count on the consultation being a "safe space" for you to confidentially discuss with an experienced lawyer your current situation, dreams and aspirations, and any fears or difficulties that you are facing in the pursuit of your immigration goals. We will listen to you, offer our recommendations, and answer your questions with unwavering honesty.
DO I REALLY NEED A LAWYER?
Yes. Immigration statutes and regulations are extremely complicated and you must demonstrate to immigration officials that you have met all of the legal elements for the benefit or form of relief that you seek. In addition, the documentation requirements vary widely, can be quite extensive, and a legal brief is often required linking each of the elements of controlling law to your case.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD MR. MATTHEWS GIVE TO A PROSPECTIVE CLIENT LOOKING TO HIRE AN IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY?
Do not go it alone. Immigration laws are rapidly changing and the present administration is hostile to immigrants in general. Immigration is one of the most complex areas of U.S. law. It is much more than merely filling out forms. You need to hire an immigration attorney to handle all immigration matters and proceedings. This prevents errors that can oftentimes prove costly and may even be irreversible. In fact, a number of our clients come to us for help only after they have attempted the process alone and found themselves in trouble. Hiring qualified immigration counsel to represent your interests from the very beginning is a wise investment. You should always seek to obtain the best attorney that you can afford and not let geographic restrictions stand in the way. Choose the best lawyer whom you can find and remember The Rule: an effective lawyer is rarely cheap and a cheap lawyer is rarely effective so do not choose your immigration counsel based solely upon price. Mr. Matthews has over 17 years of field experience and a wide network of resources, which he leverages to tackle even the most complex immigration matters. He has been instrumental in achieving thousands of case approvals over the course of his career. While he cannot predict the outcome of any case and prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome, Mr. Matthews will not allow a case to be filed with the government until he is convinced of its high quality and potential for success. In accordance with these principles, Matthews Immigration Group maintains a sustainable and equitable cost-benefit balance in its annual Flat Fee Schedule, charging attorney fees in accordance with high-quality legal services. Call Matthews Immigration Group today to schedule a conversation.
WHAT SHOULD PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS THINK THROUGH BEFORE TALKING TO MR. MATTHEWS ABOUT THEIR CASE?
Consider the value that you place on your family, your home, and your work, each of which you place in jeopardy when attempting to self-navigate the complex, confusing, and often contradictory immigration legal system. Immigration law can be drastically unforgiving of a lack of knowledge or the misinformation provided by well-intentioned friends, colleagues, relatives, and blogs. Immigration attorneys exist to counsel and guide their clients through a maze of complex federal law wrought with nuances and subtleties that make each case uniquely challenging. Immigration law and the manner in which it is applied changes frequently and oftentimes with little or no notice. The governing statutes are subject to constantly evolving administrative and judicial interpretations and refinements. There is no room for error so weigh your investment in competent immigration counsel against the cost of a denied immigration benefit, a forced removal from the U.S., a separation of family, or a loss of employment or community.
