A Win for Businesses: DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) Confirms Employers Now
The U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Foreign Labor Certification ("OFLC") has confirmed that it has modified the deadline by which employers must respond to the sponsorship confirmation e-mail following the filing of a PERM application. Employers traditionally have had only seven days to confirm sponsorship, but that has now been extended to 30 days. If a response is not received within the first seven days, the system will automatically send a reminder e-mail to the employer reminding them that they have 23 days left in which to confirm sponsorship. The OFLC has revised the sponsorship e-mail to reflect the new extended deadlines.
